  • Knees.  Over extending, twisting or constant snapping could cause discomfort to the surrounding joint and ligaments.

I have come across quite a few of the injuries but touch wood, never did it to myself!

Being mindful!

Take it slow, embrace the whole experience and to be honest with you injuries just never happen.  In life the things we prepare for seldom happen but the things we don’t prepare for often do!  Every class you take will or should have a warm up and a cool down program.

  1. Thanks for a really enjoyable post, I always try and stretch before exercise especially if it is a sport that requires sharp, explosive movements.

  2. As an avid tennis player I know what it means to be injured if you don’t be careful. Sports are good for health but you have to make sure to take all precautions to avoid injuries and enjoy what you like to do the most.

  3. My husband has a broken arm (he broke the same part twice) and he has stopped taking part in playing basketball. Now he is trying milder sports that no physical contacts will be involved. He says he would have taken more precautions if he could understand more about this area earlier.

May I ask, if he really wants to continue playing basketball, what kind of protection gadgets would he need?

    1. Hi Crystal. If he wants to continue and his chosen sport is Basketball, then all he can do is wear a trusted support, Vulcan is a good brand and take it easy. Basketball isn’t supposed to be a contact sport but it is!

  4. These are great tips. I wonder if diet doesn’t play a role in overuse injuries. If your joints are in really good health, then they may be a bit more protected. Just a point to ponder.
