Creating a virtual business.
There’re no stones, windows or doors to open, creating a successful online business is totally different from everything you know about a business. You will still need a few tools to help you on your way but in the same way you would build a conventional business, an online business is no different, you still need a solid foundation.
The tools required for internet success!
- Niche – Your interest.
- Website name.
- Hosting package.
- Internet business education.
- Keywords – searched for phrases.
- Ppc advertising.
- Social media training.
- Internet ranking.
- Search engines.
Your niche – Finding what floats your boat.
This is the light – bulb moment, Where you search your mind and soul to find where your passion lies. This can be anything, any topic that you can write about. This is very important because when it comes to writing website content, having a topic that is close to your heart makes the whole process easier and when you find it, then it’s time to share it with the world!
Website name – Creating a lasting brand.
Every business needs a name and running an online business is no different. You will need a strong name that says what you are and more importantly what you’re about. This will describe your website and what topics you will be discussing/reviewing.
Website – You’re building in your virtual world.
Look at this stage as your bricks and mortar in the real world. Your website is where all your activity will take place. Bit by bit your website will start to grow as you add reviews, posts, pages and content that reflects your interests.
Hosting package – Your link to the outside world.
Bring your content to live with every word you type and then share it with the world. This is your link to success! Make sure your provider knows what you need and offers you all the safe guards and securities that every website needs.
This should also contain an email that reflects and connects you to your new online business.
Internet business education.
There’s a saying that I know you must have heard of, that saying is, “Knowledge is power!”. This is a very powerful statement, that is very true. It’s at the core of any business project. It also bears weight in physical activity, knowledge is the main ingredient. We have a lot of information now but we still don’t really know how to create a successful online business.
Or do we?? Well here it comes, most, if not all your requirements can be found in one place. This place is Wealthy Affiliate. They offer an online business training package, that is second to none. It’s a subscriber based platform with a community of 1.4 million subscribers. I have found this company to contain the holy grail to online marketing.
I would recommend their university to anyone looking to succeed with an online business. Their packages start with a free website and for a short period of time, connection to everything a premier member has. The information here will blow your mind!!
Keywords – Jaaxy!
So you’ve found your niche and you’re very excited that you’ve now got a direction to move in but how will you do that? Well the missing word is KEYWORDS. A keyword is the word or phrase that someone types into a search engine. Jaaxy tells you exactly what people are searching for and what phrases they are using.
The rest should be self explanatory, you simply target these words in your blog. This is very important to an online business and needs to be applied correctly to build traffic.
PPC advertising – (Pay Per Click).
Every business needs customers to come through the door. When it comes to an online business, this is called traffic and traffic is very important for creating opportunity!
Pay per click does exactly what it says. Your advert will be displaced in places on the internet where it might be of interest and your potential customers click on your advert and you pay a small fee for the privilege. It’s a very clever way to bring new customers to your business.
Social media training.
I don’t need to tell you how powerful the internet is! Or do I? Well it’s very powerful and when it is combined with the power that WORD OF MOUTH brings, you’re on to a winner!
When building your website make sure you use the full power of social media. The likes of FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM, PINTREST, LINKED-IN etc. Make your business viral among your friends and family. Utilising these platforms can catapult your business to great heights quickly and shouldn’t be overlooked.
Networking – The building blocks of business.
Make good connections and links with reputable websites or like-minded people. This is another good way to attract traffic to your website.
Internet ranking – Google, Yahoo and Bing.
This is where you are rewarded for creating great content. Getting your website and its content ranked is a great achievement. I’ve covered the main search engines even though there’re loads more! But the thought process will be the same, write good content, get it ranked hopefully to the top of page one.
Search engines – The way to bring keywords to life.
Learning how to use search engines properly will pay dividends. The theme of this review is how to create a successful online business and like any business, it needs to stand the test of time. If you utilise all the tools above, you’ll find that I have given you an amazing blue print for a very successful business.
The main benefits of running an online business.
This is the simple part. Building an online business can be fun and at the same time financially rewarding too, the statistics don’t lie. The opportunity is really too big to ignore but if you’re still unsure then look at it this way.
A business takes time to build and you’re not expected to make a profit for the first 5 years. Now this can be true for any business, so there isn’t really any difference here. But over that 5 year period that you’re waiting for your business to turn you a profit, you’re paying:
- Accountant fees.
- Business rates.
- Electricity and gas bills.
- Staff wages – pension, holiday pay etc.
- Training costs.
Most businesses never survive the first 5 years and with all that I’m sure you can understand why. The costs will run into thousands and nothing is guaranteed. So we want to know how to create a successful online business but like any other business we first need to have a business plan.
How to create a successful online business.
An online business can be as expensive as you want to make it, your costs are nowhere near the cost of a normal business. Your costs would be:
- Web hosting package – Wealthy Affiliate.
- Register your website name.
- Training – free if you choose Wealthy Affiliate.
Your costs are minimal and because you will have the backing of their community, which consists of 1.4 million people. The benefits of an online business outweigh a traditional stone and mortar business.
Creating real money from a virtual world.
The virtual world is exactly what it is, a virtual world that has the potential to deliver you a residual income month after month and the income that you can create is very real! I have known some of my colleagues to make between £2,000 – £7,000 per month and some make even more!
What I’m trying to say, is that this is within the grasp of anyone who dares to look at their business in a totally different way.
The only conclusion.
There really is no comparison between a stone and mortar business and an online business. They both require work and they both require a business plan. I will even say you can earn a decent income regardless of which way you choose, the big difference is that you can save and learn a lot more with an online business.
You have a captive audience that you can access without too much effort. It’s time to step into the 21st century!
