Running, Grappling, swimming, cycling or just working out in the gym, to be honest I can’t think of a sport doesn’t use a rash guard. Wearing the correct clothing will improve your training in a multitude of ways. You will automatically feel relaxed and this will improve your confidence and performance. When I say the right clothing I mean rash guards. This post is about rash guards for women, now this is not to say only women wear rash guards.

Rash Guards for Women.

To get the best performance you need to give yourself the best tools. This should start with the correct training for your sport and hopefully the right level of fitness. But this is just the start of a life times journey, from head to toe you should be dressed correctly for your sport or activity.

My focus is on rash guards, so that’s where I’m going to aim my post. Rash guards are a very useful piece of kit, in fact I’m going to say they’re essential to most training regimes. Like I said earlier they are used by a number of sports for comfort, necessity and performance.

Running.

Runners use rash guards simply for ease of movement and comfort. I would like to stress that I’m not a keen runner. But I have found that on the odd occasions and I mean the odd occasions, when I have gone out for a run. I have found a rash guard helped to keep me cool, and even though I was sweating I didn’t feel uncomfortable.

Some people sweat more than others and I’d say I’m among those than sweat a lot. My rash guard was essential to my workouts.

So for me wearing a rash guard was essential. Now I’m sure there’s going to be quite a few people out there who will have had the same experience.

Grappling.

Most practitioners of ground fighting use rash guards because of their durability and flexibility under extreme circumstances. I personally prefer to use the short sleeved type but that’s really because of the nature of the sport. When it comes to close contact, you can’t beat using a rash guard to keep you feeling fresh and dry during a hard workout.

Footballers.

Now their usage here is quite seasonal but never the less they are used by a lot of football clubs. That being said, when it’s winter long sleeved tops are worn but I’m guessing during summer, short sleeveless tops are worn. Now the type predominantly used here are long sleeved. As you can see rash guards for women as been playing a big role in the sporting and training world for a very long time and in a very large variety of ways.

Boxers.

Now I remember seeing our World champion, Anthony Joshua working out and guess what he wears during his gruelling training sessions, yes a rash guard. A boxer can train for a number of hours, a world title fight is approximately 10 – 3 minute rounds, so their fitness levels need to be high. They will skip, run and work the bag during preparation for a fight.

Gym Bunny.

Apart from football, the next big demand for rash guards for women is in the gym industry. Rash guards are worn by over 95% of women who attend fitness centres. This is purely for the fact that they give comfort, help to keep you cool, fast drying, allow easy movement during exercise and are flexible. A rash guard can make a difference to a high intensity workout. So when it comes down to a heavy training session, never leave home without one!

  1. Hello:

I just wrote a comment on your website wondering if you have any rash guards for men. I do lots of exercises myself during the day especially when I’m running errands. I think that you should have rash guards for all walk of life, especially in the summer when your body gets itchy and stinky.

    1. Yes rash guards are designed for men and women.  In sport they are used by both sexes.  You can find some for men here.

  2. This is good to know. I’ve just started diving classes and for now, we are just doing practicing indoors. In a few months time, we’ll be going to the open waters (wish me luck). Living in the tropics, I can imagine the type of harm the sun can do to our skin. Better get the rash guard ready in advance. I see there are already some sales going on so now is the right time to shop. Thanks for the heads up.

    1. It seems like you have taken the right precautions regarding your safety and training.  I am very happy to be of service to you. Have a great time.
