What are the health benefits of.
The beauty of jumping rope as a form of exercise, is that we can all do it and I’d even go out on a limb to say, most of us have done this simple but effective exercise as a child! Has a child, and this is something I can relate to, it was performed in a back garden or school playground simply for fun.
It’s easy to do and free, to start jumping rope all you need is a rope. But what are the health benefits of jumping rope? Well there’s quite a few:
- Improve cardiovascular system.
- Weight control and loss.

The human body will receive a varied amount of benefits from jumping rope. I’d start by saying that straight away you’d benefit from improved timing and also covers hand and eye coordination. The practice of jumping rope will require the individual to time the movement of their arms, with the timing of their feet and jump. Once you’ve mastered this stage the benefit will the spread to your lungs, this will improve your cardiovascular system.
If you’re a little rusty in the beginning, getting a good workout might take awhile but once you’ve got the hang of it, you’ll be well on your way to improving your health and losing weight.
Who can benefit from using a rope.
What are the health benefits of jumping rope? The sky’s the limit when it comes to jumping rope. It’s something anyone from the age of 5 to 65 years of age can do, without causing any problems. All you need is a length of rope, it doesn’t need to be flashy. So grab your rope and hit the great outdoors for an amazing workout.
Losing weight by jumping rope.
This is the ultimate goal to any exercise regime, which is to get fit and lose weight. Jumping rope is very effective for losing weight, although not everyone can use jumping rope to lose weight, if you’re overweight or suffering from any form of joint problem. It can be of benefit after some weight is lost or after your doctor has cleared you for physical activity.
Now, I’ve established what you can do and when, I’d like you to know that with approximately 60 minutes of jumping rope you can expect to burn between 700 to 1200 CALORIES. This is only an estimation because everyone will jump rope at different speed. I would like to make another important thing there and that is, you can’t really skip slow! This exercise will require you to do it at a reasonable pace.
The benefits of jumping rope.
Jumping rope is a very easy way to burn calories and have fun. The benefits of jumping rope is known and used by a variety sports and athletes. Boxers include jumping rope, as a part of their fight preparation program, for the simple reason that it helps with weight loss, timing, endurance and fitness.
Performing 10 minutes of jumping rope is equivalent to running an 8-minute mile. I would recommend jumping rope for fun, burning body fat and I know other sport professionals would recommend jumping rope over other forms of exercise. This means that jumping rope is better for you, over jogging and cycling.
