When it comes to sport and achieving a winning standard, we need to communicate with our inner spirit. I would like to refer to this as talking to your body. It’s a concept some athletes are aware of and know how to add this to their training plan. But for those of us who are unaware of this method, I would to make the introduction. The human body is a very sophisticated machine, able to learn, adapt and repair its self.
This makes it our best ally and companion. So, it would be prudent to think that in order to get the very best from it, we should grasp the concept of talking to your body. So, this review will be discussing the concept of a positive mental aptitude. Combined with mental focus and determination, to achieve or enhance your training or weight loss program.
Talking to your body.
One of the most powerful things that we possess is the power of thought. Our mind is a powerful tool that can do a lot more than we are aware of. Yet, most of us tend to focus on the physical aspects and not much if any thought to what we can do with our positive thoughts.
But to be honest, having a positive thought isn’t all that is required. You also need to believe in yourself! Talking to your body helps to affirm your direction and positivity. Believe me, what can be achieved and the opportunities you can create are endless. The things you can achieve range form:
- Reduced depression.
- Resistance to illness.
- Reduced stress.
- Better performance.
A small part of what can be achieved, as well as channelling your energy to perform at higher levels. So, to move your life forward, practice talking to your body on a daily basis, incorporating nothing but positive thoughts. We are all in charge of our own destiny and making small changes now, will give you the discipline to achieve bigger tasks in your life later on.
This could be losing weight, achieving a specific target or simply just re-balancing your mind. I bet you didn’t realize you were so powerful!
Talking to your body can bring results.
Now, how do we start the conversation with yourself, without getting condemned! Simple! The term talking to your body does not mean a verbal conversation. It means a mental internal conversation, with your focus and thoughts, focused on what you are trying to accomplish. This is a technique I have used for many years, with great results. I have found internal mental focus a great way to push myself further, harder and for longer!
I’ve found this particular skill set useful for competition. Although, it must be blended with a solid foundation of belief, you really cannot achieve anything without this mix. Here’s a few examples of negative thoughts, reversed into positive ones.
Negative. Positive.
- My training session is too hard, I can’t stick to it! – I can achieve anything I put my mind to!
- Stretching Is too difficult! – But I want to do this, It’s safe and I need to do this!
- I’m not good enough to win! – I have already won, I cannot be beaten!
These are just a few thoughts that came to mind. Thoughts, have had myself, that has helped me push thorough negative times. When I was in need of strength, direction and confidence. If, you put your mind to it you’ll find, you have the inner power to take you where you want to go. Yes, it’s great to take part, but it’s even better to win!
Be gracious, grateful and optimistic.
I know you’ve heard of the saying you are what you eat. But have you heard the saying, you are what your think and these thoughts will shape your destiny. So, thinking negative thoughts will only lead to negative outcomes. Your thoughts should be clean, humble and realistic. Everyone you encounter in your normal life or in a sporting capacity, should be met without malice.
Feed your body and mind, clean healthy thoughts. You’re in charge and what you say goes. But be prepared to give yourself some kind of reward, it will pay dividends! Be grateful for everything you achieve and be optimistic of your ability, we can achieve a lot of things but not everything. We live in a world where almost anything is possible, when one door closes, another one opens. Talking to your body will help you find the open door!
Starting a positive conversation.
There’re no negatives to this comment, you’re going to start a conversation with yourself. It should be a conversation you should be able to win, but it’s not going be that easy. Its human nature not to like change and for that reason alone, small steps need to be taken to make positive lasting changes. You are the master of your destiny and every spoken word will channel and strengthen your resolve.
Be assertive, talking to your body needs you to take charge. Any lack in confidence or planning will result in failure and a bigger challenge on your hands. Remember you are the master of YOU! Nobody knows you better than you, believe it and express it in every spoken word.
The conclusion to talking to your body.
We are all creatures of habit, we do not accept changes easily and will fight tooth and nail to avoid change! This review is to reassure you that you can do anything you want. But you need to plant the seeds, that will form your foundation for change. When you start talking to your body, you open a new form of communication that will talk your body and mind into doing your will.
Like anything in life, you will need to be assertive, positive and mentally have a plan. It’s not enough to just want to make a change to your normal routine. You’re also required to have a realistic plan that works. Nothing else will cut it! Believe me when I say this, you cannot fool yourself into doing something that you know deep down will not work!
So, make sure every word carries weight and direction, to achieve your goals. I hope this review has given you the strength to make big changes to your life of sport or just purely to your life. Please share it with anyone who might be in need of direction and positivity. If, you have any comments or questions please leave them below. I will answer them as soon as possible.
