What does extreme weight loss mean.

Now it’s time for a little education on what extreme weight loss really means and if there’s a better choice. When you lose over 10lbs of body weight. Within a 12-month period, without trying. This is known as extreme. It can often be an indicator of an illness, which could be Cancer, Diabetes, Depression, an overactive or underactive Thyroid gland. This is just to name a few, what is super important is that they all require medical assistance!

I would like to mention one more issue, which is an eating disorder. If you have been diagnosed with this condition, please speak to your Doctor before commencing with any diet plan.

If you’re fit and healthy, with no underlying health issues, then you can continue.

Is extreme weight loss dangerous to my health.

We will only ever have one body and taking care of it, is the reason why we should exercise and eat healthily. Most of us find this easy to do and some of us struggle. If you’re on an exercise plan or a diet program and you’re losing weight – GREAT! I applaud you and I’d suggest you continue. But if you’re not and you’ve lost 5% of your body weight, you’re in a bad place.

Losing large amounts of body weight is not healthy. Studies have shown that between 12 – 25% of people who lose large amounts of body weight. Over a 6-month period will suffer with Gallstones. You will cause your body to over work, which will cause it more stress. Dropping 500 calories per day is bad for your health and could also promote muscle loss. There’s also a high risk of dehydration and know how important water is to our health.

A vibration plate can be an attractive alternative to weight lifting. Studies with this device showed that people who were obese lost up to 11% of body weight in 6 months! This performing a set amount of exercises for 30 – 60 seconds, on a regular basis. I’ve never used this piece of equipment before but I have heard good reviews. These reviews are know backed up with facts. Although it has proved its worth, try to use this extreme weight loss equipment with an additional exercise program.

This is a good old favourite for many. Using a treadmill for weight loss will help you burn between 500 – 1000 calories. This will involve 30 minutes of work and a reduction of calories. You can expect to lose up to 2lbs per week, which is quick but safe. I’m not a big fan of running but I’ve used a treadmill, on quite a few occasions. It’s not the same as pounding the pavement but it’s a great substitute in bad weather.

Rowing machines.

If you’re in the mood for a demanding challenge, then rowing is for you. You can lose up to 2 lbs per week. But you gain the additional benefits of exercising your arms, legs and back in the process. I liked using rowing machines, they do have a lot to offer and don’t really get enough praise.

Cross trainers.

This can be quite fun, although I didn’t like it, it could be good for you. A cross trainer, used for 30 minutes, 3 times a week at a high resistance and reasonable pace. Will help you lose approximately 1 kg per month. This is what extreme weight loss equipment is all about. You’ll make great gains, if you’re willing to work!
