Healthy fitness goals.

Healthy fitness goals.

Getting fit and keeping yourself fit, is all about setting healthy fitness goals and sticking to them. Life can easily become congested and that can lead to complications in our lives. When these complications arise we do the obvious, which is diet yet continue to do things that is the total opposite of what we are trying to achieve. Building a healthy lifestyle isn’t easy if you’ve always lived with a fast food lifestyle.

In this post I’ll be focusing on what making healthy fitness goals is about and how to stay on the right path.

Healthy fitness goals.

Life is all about targets, we set targets in every stage of our lives, yes, we often break them but they exist. The good news is that we don’t often know that we’ve set ourselves goals! For example, by the age of 21 I’m going to buy my first car, a goal or I’d like to have been married before my 25th birthday, a goal! This is no difference between life goals and fitness goals, apart from the fact that fitness goals can easily be achieved, naturally!

As naturally as eating and sleeping, but we always make it a chore. Now, let me explain the difference between a diet and a healthy lifestyle.  A diet is specific type or restriction on the food we consume, this might be done to reduce our calorie intake. Or due to an illness, for instance someone who is diabetic will have restrictions on sweet foods.

Now, incorporating healthy fitness goals, would be easier for someone already living a healthy lifestyle. This means utilizing the following:

  • 7.5 to 8.5 Hours of sleep per night.
  • Taking part in regular exercise, 3 – 5 times per week.
  • Eating a well-balanced meal. Your plate of food will consist of vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, proteins and healthy fats.

Treating your body mind and soul to good well-timed nutrients will yield gains. Nutrients that will aid sleep, recovery, development and help to boost your immune system. Which brings me back to the good old saying, “You are what you eat”.

What is a healthy fitness goal?

Your healthy fitness goals can come in many forms, the obvious one is to lose weight. The challenges that most people face with losing weight is what to eat and when to eat it. Always forgetting that to promote a healthy sustainable weight loss, it needs to be run concurrent with a regular exercise program. Cutting or minimizing your food intake is not enough and will only lead to resentment and eventually failure.

  • Take on a marathon.
  • Loose a certain weight, in a certain time.
  • Beat your personal best (P.B).
  • Take the Iron man challenge.

For those that are of a good healthy weight, their fitness goal might be to perform a quicker run. This is also quite common but to be honest with you, it still requires a fitness plan to increase your fitness and performance levels. But with the few examples I have given, I guess you’ve got the drift.  Your healthy fitness goals can be almost anything, the important thing to bear in mind is how you intend to achieve your goal.

Planning your healthy fitness goals.

So, now you know what a healthy fitness goal is, now let’s take a look at how we should plan one. A fitness goal is a variety of scheduled or timed exercises, designed to improve our physical or cardiovascular fitness. Depending on your fitness goal, of course! One of the weapons used to improve all-round fitness is (H.I.I.T) High Intensity Interval Training.

This is would help you on the road to lose weight, improve your cardio, increase muscle mass and body tone. It’s truly an all-rounder but it’s hard work. To take your fitness to a new level, I would suggest training in high intensity interval training three times a week, combined with sprinting drills. My reasoning for this type of approach is simple. Adding a running program, especially a sprinting program to a high intensity work out is going to push you and build you!

<img src='data:image/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns=%22http://www.w3.org/2000/svg%22%20viewBox=%220%200%20716%20477%22%3E%3C/svg%3E' data-src="action plan for achieving.jpeg" alt="healthy fitness goals"/>

Sprinting twice a week, for approximately 30 minutes should be enough to compliment your high intensity work out. But please remember, if you haven’t participated in any physical exercise for a while, consult your doctor before you begin!

Developing a winning mindset.

The power of your mind shouldn’t be ignored, to set and achieve any part of your healthy fitness goals, you’re going to need a strong will. The mindset of champions to help you succeed. But how do you achieve such a thing? To achieve anything, we need to be positive and keep that positivity with every step you make. Small steps I do add, that will give you small gains, but gains never less.

Visualize reaching your end goal, but visualize your success in stages. Write it down, this is a method that works. Set yourself a target and set a date, when this target will be achieved. Confirm this by positive visualization and begin taking action! I believe that to truly achieve anything in life, you must believe in your abilities. But your raw ability, on it’s own will not be enough to build your healthy fitness goals up on.

It’s a foundation, that will also require large amounts of determination and passion.

My conclusion to healthy fitness goals.

You are an individual, you are unique and these are some basic tools, that will aid you through life. But these basic tools are important for setting healthy fitness goals. Developing a mindset to help you achieve your goals, is within you. A healthy mindset is grown from learning, this is something that was observed back by Confucius, who was a great philosopher. The key to our success is learning, learning how to achieve our dreams and desires, from within.

This post is to highlight the fact that we can all do amazing things and the only thing that will stop you from being successful in your endeavours, is your mindset. You must believe in YOU! You can be all you want to be if you believe in yourself!

I hope you’ve enjoyed the read and you’ve learned a lot more about yourself. You are the master of your own destiny! If you have any questions or comments please leave them below.  I will answer them as soon as possible.

To your success, UTG.
