Fitbit Charge HR 2 Review
Moving to the Beat
I have a very interesting review today. The review is about Fitbit’s new revamped Surge, now known as the HR 2 smart tracker. Fitbit is a huge company and they have cornered a large share of the smart tracker world. The Fitbit Charge HR 2 review aims to give you my honest opinion on this new device.
Fitbit Charge Hr 2 Review – First Impressions
Its predecessor, the Surge, was a very clunky device. Don’t get me wrong, it was a good device in regard to what it could do. But unfortunately, it was like a brick!
To get the best from this device you’re advised to wear it at night. This would help it determine an accurate reading of your resting heart rate. However, I found that it kept me awake! So, trying to find my resting heart rate really wasn’t going to happen!
Key Features of the Fitbit Charge HR 2
The device offers the wearer:
- Heart Monitoring
- GPS Tracking
- Daily Activity Tracking
- Text Alerts
- Sleep Tracking
- 5ATM Water Resistance
- 7 Day Battery Life
- Bluetooth Capability
Wow! Those were my first words when I received my first one! I tried everything possible, there was so much to play with and then came the big test, tracking my sleep pattern!
Sleep Tracking Experience
It failed miserably! It felt like I had attached a brick to my wrist and I must admit I didn’t need it to tell me how I’d slept because I didn’t!
R.I.P The Fitbit Charge HR 2 Review
This device looks the business! It brings a smile to my face. Honestly, I loved my Surge, but our bond was short-lived. The new HR smart tracker has already captured my heart. Are you ready to monitor your progress in a better way?
Design and Functionality
It looks good, feels good, and comes with a whole load of functions:
- Heart Rate Tracking
- Automatic Activity Detecting (Calories, steps, and climbs)
- Sleep Tracking
- Silent Alarm Function
- GPS Function
- iPad and Android Connection Capability
Available Options
- Color: Plum
- Sizes: Small, Medium, and Large
- Style: Charge 2
Strap and Build Quality
The strap has had an update, which was another big fault with the Surge. My Fitbit Charge HR 2 review has nothing but praise for this new smart tracker. With the old model, my strap started splitting after 6 months of normal wear.
I wasn’t impressed, and it was a lot of trouble to get it fixed. The new Fitbit HR comes with a beautiful rugged-looking strap and a smooth face which seems to bond together very well.
Improved Design
I can’t say it enough, it’s beautiful! Fitbit has taken the time to improve all the faults of the Surge. I would also like to add that the Surge, in its heyday, was selling for around £250! There will no doubt be an upgraded model in the pipeline and I can tell you now, I can’t wait!
Price and Availability
The new Charge HR 2 smart tracker ranges from £33.99 to £210.80, which is a fantastic price for a much better product. The best price can be found with most reputable dealers.
Conclusion Of Fitbit Charge HR 2 Review
The Fitbit Charge HR 2 review is all about giving you the information that matters. I agree Apple is a great brand and they have delivered some great products, but everything needs a human touch and that’s what makes the difference, be it good or bad!
I have done my best to give you my opinion on Fitbit, with a small comparison to Apple. This is my opinion and you might agree or even disagree!
Either way, please leave any comments or questions below. I will reply as soon as possible.
Ultimate Training Gear.
Awesome review! I love wearing a device like this that can track so many different things when I am battling the outdoors or the gym! Do you know how shock resistant this model is? I believe the predecessor would crack if it was dropped on its face!
Thank you for your comment. The Charge HR 2 can withstand moderate scratches and knocks. Very simular to the Fitbit Blaze.
Great review! I love the way you write.
Thanks for this review. I would love to get a FitBit as my friend swears by hers. I’m not sure which version she got but I do have one question. What is the sleep tracker like on these because this is one of the main things I’m interested in using. How does is work and what information can you get from it? Would love to hear your feedback on that aspect.
Thanks again.
