How to train your body.

How to train your body.

Training and exercise is of great importance to me and I’m sure it’s important to you to. This post is about how to train your body, to enable it to achieve all your training goals. I hope this post will help anyone who’s new to sport. Regardless of your level, type of sport, amateur or professional.

This post will help you understand a little more about you and your body. The idea is to give you enough knowledge to make the needed changes, to improve your performance.

How to train your body.

So where do we start and what will you have to do? Those of us that already take part in sport have a reasonably good idea of what should be happening. When I say this I refer to training approximately twice a week, eating 3 meals a day and getting a decent nights sleep. I would say you’ve got the basics covered. The novices among us will have a similar version of this but probably not as refined.

That’s great because we all have to start somewhere and there’s no better place like the beginning. You’re going to learn how to train your body to make it efficient and more productive. So please read on.

What does your body need to be healthy?

To improve your body, you must also improve your mind. Now this is a part of the training process, that most people in sport neglect. The consequences of this isn’t usually realized until it’s too late. This is something Ultimate Training Gear is here to consistently put right. Your body needs a few things to get it to tip-top condition. Once that is achieved, then we need to learn how to keep it there.

Before we can truly start working on our body, we need to look inside ourselves. Everything we do is driven by a thought process. This should tell you that your mind has a big role to play in every step, in learning how to train your body.

A healthy mind.

Your mind is the key to motivation and for making great things happen. Try to picture yourself achieving your goal, this doesn’t matter at what stage of your training, you’re in. You’ll need to understand and master this little trick. In my early days of training I didn’t find this easy but yet again no one was there to tell me what to do!

I’ll be the first to admit it’s difficult to imagine achieving a goal, when your workout is making you think of pain. Your body is aching and there’s sweat dripping in your eyes. But I had to do it and so will you, it’s a must!

Healthy food.

Now let’s take a look at your fuel. All of your energy comes from what you consume and if this part of your training is not met. It will leave you with a positive mind but no physical drive. In other words you’ll be running on empty. There’s other terms I could use but I’m sure you get the message. So food needs to be given priority, in order for us to be able to reach our targets.

The simple basics here means eating 3 well-balanced meals per day. Each meal should consist of Protein, Carbohydrates, Vitamins, Minerals and of course fats. Tune your mind to see each meal has your super mix for success, because you can only get out what you put in.

My advice would be make sure you’re consuming good food. For instance, eating good quality protein doesn’t mean eating a burger or fried chicken! Be food smart when it comes to your body, especially if you’re trying to make major achievements.

The correct amount of Sleep.

Get some sleep! If you’re serious about progress, you just cannot afford to be out partying till the early hours. Then think you can wake up the next morning and have a workout, without some problems. Trust me it’s not going to happen. You should be trying to get between 6 – 8 hours of sleep each night. Now don’t get me wrong, we all need some down time but when you’re letting your hair down, give training a rest.

It’s the best thing to do and you’ll achieve a lot more in the long run.

Adequate exercise.

Most of us, amateur or professional will have some sort of exercise routine in place. Although a majority of us will be exercising to look good and not to achieve any progress in our sport. There’s still nothing wrong with this. If that’s what you want and I can help you achieve it, it’s great. My role here is to guide you on how to train your body. How and to what level you train is up to you.

But for those that are ready to do a little more, then your exercise regime needs to be always pushing. Keep your workout fresh, work on all aspects, for instance, cardiovascular, strength, flexibility and speed. It’s more than likely that you’ll need to add some variety to cover all aspects.

Drink plenty of water.

Are you drinking enough? Water is another key component to your super fuel, your body won’t get very far without it. Most people don’t drink enough, which is a fact. The basic guideline is 2 litres per day but most people forget. If, you’re involved in sports you can’t afford to forget. You’ll be losing more water than the average person, which means you run the risk of dehydration. Keep a very close eye on how much water you’re drinking or not drinking, which might also the case.

What are the benefits of good health?

When we reach a high level of health, things start happening without too much effort. This is where you want to be, when you get to this stage in your training regime you’ll know it. The feeling will be immense, nothing will be a problem. This is what having good health feels like. It’s a combination of good rest, a sensible diet and an exercise regime that’s fuelled by positive motivation and action.

You’ll find your body will burn calories more efficiently and you’ll also benefit from improved digestion. Your resting heart rate will have improved, which also means after any physical activity you’ll recover quicker. Being healthy has its benefits and you’re now in a position to reap the rewards.

What is the key to success?

In my opinion learning how to train your body and the key to success, are one and the same. One creates the other, training with consistency will keep you improving. In which ever part of your training regime you are in. If you constantly challenge yourself and push the boundaries from time to time. What you’ll accomplish will have you surprised.

Training to improve your weaknesses.

There’s another area that should be given some attention and that is your weakness. We all have a weakness, what does vary from person to person. The difference is how much of you does your weakness consume? I’m a big believer in prevention, over cure. Hopefully your new friend (Positivity) will tell what that is and even encourage you do improve it. Most athletes will be too proud to say they have a weakness, but we all do and it’s not a shame. The only shame is not trying to address it!

Improving your strengths.

Now, what is the opposite of strength? You should know this one, it’s weakness! And guess what, in this balanced world that we live in, you can’t have one without the other!  That was for anyone who proclaims they don’t have any weaknesses. If for any reason you’re finding it difficult to remove or improve any weaknesses you might have.  Then the next best thing would be to reinforce your strengths.  You should never let anything stand in the way of progress!

Positive motivation.

I hope you’re still with me? Success comes from creating positive thoughts and acting upon them. The power of thought is nothing new, it can help us achieve and overcome so much. I’d tell you to embrace this concept with both hands and put it to work in all aspects of your training.

How to train your body for success – a winning conclusion.

If you’ve stayed with me, you will have discovered quite a lot about yourself. I’d also like to think you’re now eager to start putting some of what I’ve said into practice. Remember to be honest with yourself, start every session with a positive aptitude. When it comes down to understanding how to train your body, to achieve your best. You will your own worst enemy, but you can beat this problem with positive thought and action!

I hope this post has helped your thought process and answered some unanswered questions. But if you have any questions or comments.  Please leave them below and I will answer them as soon as possible.

  2. Hello, I read your article, and your tips help anyone to have great results in body training. I frequent the gym before giving birth to my daughter, but it is a long time that I don’t train. Recently, I start to do some exercises at home, because staying home I gain weight. I agree with you about any tips that you recommend in your article.

The mind is very important in body training, because having goals, make me to be persistent and don’t give up to reach the results that I want to have.

The food, sleep, exercises are great helpers in this body training, but I want to highlight the water.

I have great results in losing weight, and I was healthier when I drink at least 2L water every day. I used for a period an APP that reminds me to drink water, and I felt in perfect shape at that time.

    Thank you for your post

  3. Thanks for this amazing article on how to train your body. Training my body has been a too priority for me, so I make sure I engage in all the necessary activities to make sure that aim is achieved. It’s really a fact that the improvements of your body depends more on the improvements of your mind. Initially when I started my excercise I was never really fit so I easily get tired and discouraged but at a time I had to always encourage my self, always give my self some positive vibes and press on even when the task always seems difficult. I really had to improve my mindset that everything is very much achievable and that was where my success started from and today I am well to do when it comes to body fitness. I still have some more levels to attain so this article is going to serve as a guide to me for the things I need to put in place.
