My focus today is on running shoes, but not just any old running shoe. I’m looking for the best running shoes for men. The type of running shoes I will be focused on will be long distance. Running plays a big part in the fitness regimes of many athletes and in order for them to achieve the best in their sport, they need to make sure the tools they use are also the best!

The Best Running Shoes For Men.

Finding a good pair of running shoes isn’t easy but it is possible and necessary. I think the best way to look at this is to start with your feet. Feet come in different shapes and sizes, which can make the whole process of finding the best pair of running shoes difficult. If you’re serious about your sport then you owe it to yourself to get your feet measured for the best fit shoes.

Once you’ve had this done finding a good pair of running shoes will become easier. Your fit needs to be perfect, I would urge you to take into consideration any defects that you might have. I find when I’m looking for a new running shoe I have to give special attention to my right foot, due to an old injury that occurred many years ago.

This becomes my deal breaker, I might have thought I have found the best running shoes but if the fit isn’t right, I have to continue the search.

Multi Purpose Trainer or Just A Running Shoe.

If we want to find the best running shoes for men we need to be specific with our needs. Do we need our running shoe to be more than just a running shoe? There’s a variety of brands available but like me I bet you have your favourite too.

ASICS Men’s Gel-Kayano 24 Running Shoes.

I am a big fan of Asics, I find that they give a very snug fit. Even though I’m not a runner by any means I have found running in a pair of Asics quite comfortable. The price tag is a little high for my liking but when it comes to finding the best running shoes for men, it is to be expected. The older model of Kayano‘s was loved by everyone who tried them but unfortunately the newer model hasn’t had the same success.

It has been scrutinised for its weight and being much harder than its predecessor. So the higher price tag in this case doesn’t seem to point to a better product.

ASICS Men’s Gel-Kayano 25 Running Shoes.

This running shoe comes from a family of running shoes. They are regarded has being a much better quality shoe compared with Kayano 24. So from the way it seems, the Kayano 23 is better than the Kayano 24 and it is also lagging behind the Kayano 25 too! When you make an overall comparison there’s not that much of a difference. Because most customers who have brought this shoe loved how it felt, when compared to the Kayano 24.

ASICS Men’s Gt-1000 7 Running Shoes.

A very quick comparison of the best running shoes for men so far as shown me that for comfort, choosing a shoe with a good heel thickness seems to make the difference. the material used for all shoes so far all seem the same. Long distance running or even running for long distances daily requires the best shoe you can find.

SALOMON Men’s Speed-cross 4 GTX Trail Waterproof Running Shoes.

<img src="black running shoe.jpg" alt="best running shoes for men"/>

  • Outer Material: Synthetic.
  • Inner Material: Textile.
  • Sole: Gum Rubber.

  • Heel Type: Flat.

A very lightweight running shoe designed for regular use and various terrain. It weighs between 260 – 300g, has a Gore – Tex lining for moisture management and comfort. The Speed cross 4 GTX is a beautiful shoe which has a sensifit system, this allows the shoe to fit the wearer perfectly. I would like to say this shoe is ideal for the serious runner. The price of the shoe dictates its quality and your desire to train or compete at the highest of standards.

ASICS Men’s Gel-Sonoma 4 Running Shoes.

£56.20 – £89.95

  • Open forefoot mesh – Breathable material that allows increased airflow.

  • Outer Material: Synthetic.
  • Inner Material: Man made.
  • Sole: Gum Rubber.
  • Closure: Lace-Up.
  • Material Composition: Synthetic.

I don’t believe you can go wrong with the Sonoma 4 running shoe. It’s lightweight and comfortable, designed for low to medium mileage running. It is also described as a trail shoe, it boasts good stability in wet and uneven surfaces too. Its gel composition makes every stride a soft one. In my opinion this shoe is mid range shoe, truly good enough to take your training to a whole new level without breaking the bank.

Because it wears the Asics name tag I’m convinced it won’t disappoint you. But again this is my opinion and I love the Asics brand and how their running shoes feel.

Running Made Easy – Why Make It Difficult!

Now comes the big question, have I found in my list the best running shoes for men? I’ve compiled a list of top class running shoes that all look the business. The prices do vary and I mean vary a lot, which is fine but is the price tag a guarantee of the quality and performance of each shoe?

When you decide to purchase a running shoe all the variables should be taken into consideration.

  1. What type of feet you have – Do you have wide feet?
  2. How do you run – On your heels, toes, flat or side to side?
  3. Do you wear the correct socks?
  4. Do you have a brand that you like – If its not broke don’t fix it!

These variables should be taken into consideration, I also believe strongly in the phrase ” If its not broke don’t fix it”. By this statement I mean if you already wear a particular brand and they feel great but are worn, then why not just replace them with a newer model rather than change the brand?

I hope this little review helps you in finding your best running shoes. My guide lines are purely here to help you do something you already do better.

If you have any comments or questions please leave them below and I will respond as soon as possible.

Happy trails.
